Made to MOVE - Inspired by LOVE - Addicted for LIFE.

Your Journey to wellness begins here

I changed my LIFE story, but not until I was almost 40 years old.  My STORY was a work in progress for over a decade, but I eventually turned my love for passion and fitness from HOBBY to CAREER in 2014.  Looking back to 1996, I really wasn't sure how my life would turn out after teaching my first kickboxing class at the corporate fitness center where I worked.  Now... I'm so thankful to GOD to be living a life full of purpose, joy and freedom sharing with others how fitness and nutrition is the foundation of health.

Mary Today:

Pure Michigan girl and proud of it!  Since childhood, I have always needed to find ways to keep moving and stay active.  I enjoyed school mostly for the social aspect, and always looked forward to recess and gym.     I was the one rallying up the girls to head out for a game of 4-square in 1st grade.  So lucky for me, living in a state with 4 seasons was a bonus since I've always enjoyed an adventure and especially adventures outdoors!

I was a tom-boy growing up.  Riding my bike for endless hours during the summer, running uptown to the library or Harmony House to pick up the latest 45 record, (you know what I'm talking about if you were born in the 70's), sledding down the community park hill on the toboggan with the neighborhood kids, playing tackle football with the boys, are just a few of things that kept me moving as a child.   In high school, I played volleyball, softball, and soccer and have always been super competitive.  As a child, I always thought I was supposed to be a gymnast, but that all changed when I was 8 years old.  The day before I was supposed to take my first gymnastics lesson, I broke my arm playing dodge ball with the HS boys at my church in the rec hall.  My dream of becoming of a gymnast changed in a blink.  8 weeks later, the cast came off and I never re-enrolled.  Well, truth be told I think really it was because my parents were a bit distracted, but I really never brought it up after my arm heeled.   Deep down, my heart told me that winning alone wouldn't be as much fun as winning with others.  I'll never regret not being able to hit the uneven bars or tumbling mat.  Instead, I enjoyed growing up in a world of sports... team sports... where team-work and being a part of a family of WINNERS was much more fun and exciting.   What fun is winning if you can't share in the GLORY and RECOGNITION among others.  You see...I believe God puts people and circumstances in front of us for a reason.   I believe HE was sending me a sign to re-purpose my mission to share fitness and sports with others... so I ran with it.  Why not?  After all.... we were MADE to MOVE!

I'm a Wife, Sister, Aunt & God Mother of 1 niece and 1 nephew, and a fur Mommy to my 10 year old Beagle, Peanut and Cat, Gibbs (yes, named after Jethro Gibbs from NCIS).  Me and my husband Mark reside in Howell, Michigan full-time, and enjoy our vacation home in Upper Michigan during weekends and vacations.  We love to embrace the beautiful Michigan seasons and enjoy snowmobiling in northern Michigan.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, singing on our praise and worship team at church, running, reading, and just finding new ways to engage others to join me in activities that keep us moving!   I was meant to take life by the reigns but don't want to do it alone, so I definitely consider myself an extrovert, overtly expressive and outgoing.  I can only hope that my passion for LIFE will resonate with others, providing encouragement to live life to the fullest... after all... we only get one shot at it.
